Declaration of Existence

From Libertatem

On April 25, 2018 President VenomRingo attempted to dissolve the Senate of the Second Republic through executive order as per the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution. The Senate subsequently disowned Venom and formed the Third Republic of Libertatem, which lasted only about five hours until everyone gave up and continued as the Second Republic again. During the short period of the Third Republic's existence, Highway Eight, as President of the Senate, drafted a "Declaration of Existence", which stated quite clearly that Senate did indeed exist, regardless of the statements of the President.

IN SENATE, April 25, 2018

The unanimous Declaration of the Senate of Libertatem

When in the Course of governmental events it becomes necessary for a legislature to state that it actually does exist and that it does exercise its constitutional powers, holding the legislative station that the People gave them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes of their statement of existence.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that legitimate legislatures are established by the People, that they are endowed by their creators with some authority to legislate. That to define this power and it's boundaries, Constitutions are instituted by men in order to protect their interests, — That whenever any Individual ignores these things and illegally dissolves the legislature, it is the right and duty of the Members of the Legislature to declare that they do not recognize unconstitutional authority, and that they do in fact exist, writing a formal and well written complaint and warning to the perpetrator, as to them shall seem most likely to get their point across. History, indeed, has shown that executives that declare themselves the ultimate authority in government are prone to devolve into tyrants; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that tyranny is the least capable of governments, that an elected and representative legislature are the most likely to protect the interests of the People. But when a man takes it upon himself to abolish the People's lawmaking body, it is their right, it is their duty, to defy such an usurpation, and to ignore such illegalities.

First off- he has abdicated authority. Nuff said.

Congress it is.
